Yahoo Buys 42.5 Acre Santa Clara Property

Yahoo has confirmed the purchase of 42.5 acres of Santa Clara property which may one day become the new YahooPlex HQ for Yahoo operations. I’m not too up on California real estate myself, but the description of the new Yahoo estate sounds quite convenient to the Great America Parkway which is ‘home to some of the valley’s most attractive and modern Class A office buildings‘, and close to the Santa Clara Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara.

From San Jose Biz Journal:

Yahoo chief financial officer, said in a prepared statement: “We see this as an attractive asset that provides attractive additional capacity and flexibility for Yahoo’s future. We are planning for future growth and will analyze several different scenarios over the coming year regarding the development of the property.”

Yahoo employs more than 10,000 people worldwide. Fewer than half are in Northern California.
