Video Podcast Search from PodZinger

PodZinger sent out this announcement last night about their podcast search engine now being able to search and index the content of video podcasts.

For the more than 70 million iPod and MP3 player owners looking to fill their gadgets with the latest viral videos, video podcasts, news, entertainment and gossip, PodZinger’s new video search feature introduces the only available Web site that allows users to search each and every word of audio segments of video, quickly pinpointing precise results from an ever-growing universe of online video.

“The explosion of online video, fueled by the growing adoption of broadband technologies in the home and office, and offerings from media outlets…” said Alex Laats, president, PodZinger. “Full text search enables a viable advertising business model for video creators and advertisers looking to monetize their content. We expect to see strong growth in advertising tied to video in the upcoming months as advertisers understand the access they now have thanks to PodZinger.”

    Here’s a similar service…

http://www.audibletype.com is a web based voice recognition system. The system allows for transcription of audio and video files to search engine friendly text! The system will transcribe your audio or video file for you and provide time indexing so that you can quickly navigate trough the relevant data. Audibletype is also working on an open-api so that others can develop and build “widgets” to take full advantage of the technology and service. It also comes with tools so that you can make good use of your content. You can even send it back to your blog.

Audibletype is currently inviting beta-testers to participate in our UI development phase. Check it out at http://www.audibletype.com
