Google Maps Adds Saved Locations
Google Maps has added a new personalized feature which saves the addresses of businesses and locations users search for using Google’s local mapping and directions service.
On the upper right hand corner of the Google Maps page is a “Saved Locations” link which lets users label their searches for further usage.
Saving locations on Google Maps is now by default for Google Account holders with the option to disable the service.
Thai Tran, Product Manager at Google Maps, lends this nifty trick with searching saved locations and auto-completion:
The next time you start entering an address or a label into Google Maps, we’ll offer to auto-complete it for you if it’s in your saved locations. Auto-completion is also available when you’re searching for businesses. If you’ve labeled the address “1600 Amphitheatre Pky, Mountain View, CA” as “work” (as some Googlers would), when you start typing [pizza near work], we’ll offer to auto-complete it as [pizza near 1600 Amphitheatre Pky, Mountain View, CA].

Top stuff – added my parents house, my parents in laws’ house and a few other random houses as well. A cool feature.
