I am a software engineer in the US (Austin, TX) and am very interested in living in Japan, but I am unwilling to abandon my high-salary to, for example, teach English in order to do so. How did you come to live in Japan (if you're still there) and do you have any tips on dealing with visa issues? Did you work for yourself, an American company, a Japanese company, or where you there on a 90 day visa? I'd really appreciate any advice you could give.
