Over the weekend Chad Hurley announced at the World Economic Forum that YouTube plans to begin sharing revenue with video creators.
My first questions are, which content creators will be part of the revenue sharing model? And will such revenue distribution be on a sliding scale?
Secondly, which form of revenue will be shared with the user?
YouTube uses multiple forms of revenue generation such as display advertising, contextual ads, distribution deals, and in the near future, Google Video Ads.
Perhaps users will be given the option to opt-in to serve Google Video Ads in their videos in an effort to build revenue, perhaps not.
And will videos spammed with URL watermarks be able to participate in such a program? Aren’t they benefitting from the traffic sent to their sites already?

This is a very good analysis, great plan, and can be easily copied. His only mistake was he is wrong as users will switch for more money. That is like saying, I do my job for you for 10k a year, and another person will pay me 20k a year. What are you going to do?
Quit both jobs and start a blog :)
Seriously, YouTube is so ahead of the game and a player in their sector that giving back to the community that made them what they are has been a long time coming.
Better late than never, and a surefire way to fend off attrition to competitors such as Revver, AOL UnCut, Yahoo Video and niche video sites such as TurnHere.
Getting web traffic from YouTube is becoming increasingly popular. I ran accross a resource that shows you how…step by step. It was easy and effective. http://www.cyberincomesolutions.com/youtube/index.html
