Google Maps is tracking the path of the Olympic Torch Relay across the world, from Athens, through China, over Mt. Everest, through North America, South America and other continents.
Bloggers who want to track the torch can embed a Google Map on their blog and Google Earth is also offering this Torch Tracking function.
That is great! Now if we could track other things/people with their permission, that would be quite awesome.

Nice idea but the olympics seem to be less and less important to people these days. I dont even watch them.
Will this map also show worldwide protests against the Chinese government brutal repression against the Tibetan people?
