Google AdWords Testing Yellow Background

Little. Yellow. Different. But Better?

Jennifer Slegg ran across a test Google AdWords is running with serving its search ads on a yellow background and she feels that the new yellow will work better than the previous blue backgrounds.

I think this background likely will perform better than the blue, as I suspect the AdWords team is testing this color as a test to see if “banner blindless” has begun to take place with the blue, and as you can see in the screenshot, yellow looks dramatically different from the blue, and I am pretty sure it draws more eyeballs when it is seen.

Interesting! I haven’t come across this on Google myself, however it will be interesting to see how this will affect Google AdWords campaigns, if testing is increased, or if it’s rolled out on a wider basis.
