YouTube Sending Google Juice to Politicians

Over at ThreadWatch Michael Gray (Gray Wolf) identifies the YouTube Political Profile pages which are sending link juice to some politicians, and those which are not.

YouTube has a section for high profile US politicians. Looking at the individual profile pages you can see inconsistent implementation, where some politicians are given straight links and others aren’t.

Amongst the Presidential Candidates which YouTube is linking to with natural links are Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Rudy Giuliani and John Edwards.

Those not linked to at all are Hillary Clinton, Bill Richardson and John McCain.

Is Google or YouTube selling these natural links to the political camps as part of an overall package?

Probably not.

But as Michael points out, in the wake of Matt Cutts announcing his manifesto on combating paid linking; just imagine if it wasn’t YouTube that was being narced on, what if it was you, would you get the same treatment, or would the punishment be a little more harsh, and how would you even know you had been accused of a “google crime”.
