ReachLocal Opening Local Sales Offices
I’ve now heard from several people that local search engine marketing firm ReachLocal is opening or planning to open local sales offices in selected cities. The company has for some time had a program to attract independent local sales agents.
And from the beginning the plan at Reach was to build a local direct channel in addition to a search engine marketing platform. The company ran into challenges with that strategy when that proved extremely difficult early on and shifted its model to emphasize channel partners for sales.
Now the company has apparently made the decision to more aggressively push back into direct sales. My understanding is that the first of these local sales offices is in New York.
