MySpace Launches Video Sharing Service
MySpace is launching its Video Sharing Service writes Rafat at PaidContent.org. Rupert Murdoch mentioned that the service would be launched last week and now MySpace has “soft launched” the service (if MySpace was Google, it would be in Beta).
[MySpace Video Sharing is] pretty much cloning functionalities of other video sites like YouTube, Grouper and others. Of course, MySpace has the huge advantage of its huge base of users.
The service allows user to upload their videos, which is encoded in Flash and streamed. Other functionalities like tagging, voting and video embedding into other sites/blogs are also there.
As start ups like YouTube and VideoEgg make innovations in video publishing, blogging, and sharing; expect News Corp’s MySpace to possibly be on the acquisition trial. TechCrunch has heard rumors that YouTube may soon be bought by a big player, but NewsCorp has personally told Michael that they are not the buyer.

helllllllllloooooooooooo
It will not save Myspace for the decline in the traffic the site has since the beginning of 2006.
