InsiderPages Chooses FAST to Improve Site Search

InsiderPages, which just had its Web 2.0 makeover, has chosen FAST to improve its site search. I also received comScore data with the press release, which shows the following metrics (a limited audience of local sites). comScore August uniques (000):

  • ServiceMagic – 2,233
  • InsiderPages – 1,150
  • Yelp – 529
  • Judysbook – 315
  • AngiesList — 178

Here’s competing traffic data from Alexa (generally regarded as not as credible, but interesting to compare results):

The image “http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?w=379&h=216&r=6m&z=&y=r&u=insiderpages.com/&u=servicemagic.com&u=yelp.com&u=judysbook.com&u=angieslist.com” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The data show Insiderpages and Judysbook at comparable levels and Yelp as having the greatest reach. It’s not clear to me how one reconciles such discrepancies. There are myriad flaws in the measurment process and there’s so much at stake in being able to claim momentum.

These sites don’t generate enough traffic apparently to show up on Google Trends. (I was corrected, removing the “.com” yields the data)
