Google’s New Open Source Service

Google’s New Open Source Service

CNet reports that Google’s Greg Stein plans to describe a new Google service for the Open Source community at the Open Source Convention in Portland this Thursday. CNet points to a quickie post on the Google Code Blog:

I’ve been working with a great team for a while now to produce a new Google Service for the Open Source community — in fact, we’re putting the final touches on it as I write this blog post.

Come to my OSCON talk on Thursday the 27th, at 1:45pm, to learn more!

Stephen Shankland at CNet notes that Stein is a former employee of source code management company CollabNet and also is chairman of the Apache Software Foundation.

A directory of Open Source projects, sorted by relevance and/or popularity would be welcome. Hope Google efforts are on that direction
