Google Reader Now Shows Embedded Videos

February 1st, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | No Comments

Google Reader has updated to be able to show videos which have been embedded within blog posts.

Being that making the switch to fill posts in RSS feeds seems to be a new trend which is making readers happy, the ability to show videos in RSS aggregators and readers is a must for those blog subscribers who prefer reading your blog via their reader than actually on your blog.

Google Reader’s Chris Wetherell says that not only videos from the Google properties Google Video and YouTube will be shown, but embedded videos from “MySpace, Jumpcut, Grouper, IFILM, Metacafe, Revver, Vimeo, vSocial, and games from Monsters and Critics” will also be served in Google Reader.

Hmmm… games? Embedded games in RSS feeds from Monsters and Critics, now that is interesting.
