Google Ranking Changes in Datacenter Results

October 2nd, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | 3 Comments

Tamar Weinberg of Search Engine Roundtable has a wrap-up of Webmaster World discussions on the new ranking trends which are appearing in these Google datacenter IPs:

  • 72.14.203.99
  • 72.14.203.104
  • 72.14.203.107

Apparently some of the Google results are showing less supplemental listings and scraper sites, with more emphasis on sites with better and original content.

Others are seeing new scraper sites popping up in the Google results.

Is this a foreshadowing of a PageRank update at Google? Or is it just a sign that Google is still having problems attributing original content back to the source?

Interesting. However, for the keywords I tried out, the listings didn’t change (wanted to for some of them, lol, but didn’t)

They have changed for me constantly over the past few days. For one specific keyword phrase I am trying to optimize for, the target page will be on page 1 results one day, page three the next and page two the next.

    Argh!

Nowadays, keywords ranking have been jumping around the SERPs. And we suspect it might just be Google have problems with their SERPs
