Sure, the news of a hidden flight simulator game within Google Earth hit the mainstream blogs days ago, but what better way to have fun and crunch office time while still using a Google service! Heck, Google hasn’t come out with a better time waster since, well, the YouTube acquisition.
Nathan from InsideGoogle writes :
If you click on the planet and press CTRL+ALT+A, you get to start up a flight simulator and fly around the globe. While moving around Google Earth has always been fun, hopping in the cockpit of an F16 or SR22 prop plane can be a completely different kind of exciting.
Google Earth Flight Simulator keyboard controls are available from Google and here’s a nifty YouTube video showing off the game.

Nice they are spending the time doing that…instead of combating the same person clicking my ads multiple times…

Very cool!
Perhaps it was made using the bonus time each employee at Google is allowed to dedicate to something else (I think it’s one of their policies).

Microsft have made millions from their flight simulator, providing something for free is a useful nudge of your competitor.
