Google Bundling Google Toolbar with Hardware
Google is expanding its toolbar partnerships beyond web downloads & computer software and into the hardware market. Aaron at Threadwatch points to a story on Google’s partnership with Lexar Media and USB Flash Drives.
Lexar Media Inc. on Tuesday said it is adding Google applications, including a toolbar and search function, to its USB flash drives.
Financial terms of the deal with Internet search giant Google Inc. were not disclosed.
Search application software bundled into computer systems and hardware is nothing new, as Yahoo and MSN have been working on similar partnerships for years with computer manufacturers.
The bundling of such toolbar hardware into drives is quite interesting however, and makes one wonder on how far the Google partnerships will go – will we be seeing a Logitech Mouse which includes Google Toolbar installations one day? How about keyboards, headphones & web cams installing Google Talk?

Interesting strategy, and certainly open to a lot more innovation. Waiting to see what comes next from Google.
