Dotster $1 Domain Name Happy Hour
Looking to save about $7 and scoop up a quick domain this Valentines Day? Dotster is hosting the $1 Domain Happy Hour which will be unloading domain names with the limit of one $1 name per order. According to Scott Fish on Randfish’s SEOMoz blog (lots of fish in Seattle) the limit is per order, not per user, so you may be able to oder unlimited $1 domains, but one order at a time.
If this is true (and Dotster, please confirm this in our comments) I have about 20 different blog domain ideas I’ve been sitting on and earning back $20 in contextual advertising is much easier than earning back $160, so this Dotster promotion has already got my interest.

dotster “happy hour”
and one of the paid ads was:
$1 Domains at Dotster.com

Just got a Dotster newsletter. They’re doing a happy hour again tomorrow - Dec, 19th 2007. This time the names are free from 1-2pm PST.

There is another Happy Hour event scheduled for April 17. Dotster will be giving away 500 free domains plus additional discounts on other services like hosting. I hear there is also an “After Hours” event happening once the 500 domains are given away where they’ll be slashing prices on domain names for 3 hours after Happy Hour. Should be worth checking out. The whole event will be starting at 4pm Eastern time.
