Yahoo Canada has launched a new search engine through the deployment of Yahoo Search Technology on Yahoo’s Canadian Search Sites in both English and in français.
Yahoo Search Technology uses the Yahoo Search Index and Overture’s Site Match Paid Inclusion to deliver its search results. Yahoo previously used Google’s search index in a partnership which ended this year.
GlobeTechnology reports that among the new features is the integration of a “more pages from this site” feature in the search results. This feature allows users to focus on a specific URL by restricting subsequent matches to that URL. As well, another enhancement of the new YST is that users will benefit from more relevant, Canadian-specific search results- bringing a more fitting nationalistic feel to Canada’s Yahoo.
