Associated Content Taps Ex Google Exec as CEO

Associated Content, the site which lets people upload articles or content to their syndicated site with excellent Google Juice, has tapped an ex-Googler to become their CEO. Yesterday Associated Content named Patrick Keane as their CEO, which will be overseeing growth along with advertising and business relationships.

Founded in 2005, Associated Content’s investors include Tim Armstrong, who recently left Google to take on the AOL CEO position, and their ties lead to when Keane worked at Google, heading up their advertising and sales strategy.

A possible AOL / Associated Content deal in the works with these two former Google colleagues intertwined? Could be if AOL wanted to tap into its customer base in an “iReport” style manner and also add more original content to the AOL content network. Who knows, Associated Content could become AOL’s version of Knol or possibly Wikipedia.
