Found on Digg.com today: Someone donated $286,800 to Wikipedia

Within the past few minutes the confirmed donations total went from $402,000 to $689,000. One contribution was by An anonymous friend on 2006-12-27 at 22:17:00 for the amount of $286,800.

Hefty Christmas present for Wikipedia and with nearly 2,000 Diggs on a story linking to the Wikipedia donation page, expect year end donations to boom.

    Of COURSE… why didn’t I think of this sooner? If I provide revolutionary services to the Internet at large for FREE, people will be stepping over each others’ trampled bodies to DONATE money to me!

    I am ALL over this.

    Its a big money, but fortunately Wikipedia is a very much useful website, so it earns.

    Wikipedia is much better than encyclopedia Britanica.Many people likes wikipedia.That is why people donating money hapily.

    With the kind of liquid capital floating around these days, $200,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to what major donors routinely spend to influence world culture toward in favor of their preferred idealogy.

    Wikipedia deserves that, as it is the most useful, I found for myself. And am sure same with you too.
