International branding and reputation seems to be working as Google is slowly closing the dynastic search gap in China, catching up to the Chinese search engine Baidu. Although Baidu still enjoys a 58.1% share of the Chinese search market, Google has grown to 22.8%.
According to China IntelliConsulting Corp., during the past six months Google has gained 1.4 percent of the search market in China. Baidu seems to be growing slower adding just 0.5 percent.
Analysys International says thay Google gained a 4% marketshare, compared to Baidu, which grew 1% according to Analysys International.
