Microsoft Windows Live Toolbars Now On Lenovo PCs

Sometimes the best offense is a strong defense and Microsoft just made one heck of an offensive/defensive search toolbar deal with the Lenovo Group; which is the third largest PC maker in the world.

Now China based Lenovo (which owns IBM PC’s) PC’s will come with the Windows Live Toolbar installed within their desktops and browsers (ironically the IE browser). Lenovo computers include ThinkPad notebooks, ThinkCentre desktops and Lenovo-branded PCs.

“Building strong partnerships is a key element of the Windows Live strategy,” said Steve Berkowitz, senior vice president of the Online Services Group at Microsoft. “Working with a globally scaled PC maker like Lenovo, we can help millions of people worldwide use Windows Live services to connect to the people and information they care about most.”

Formerly, Google had a strong contract with Lenovo to have Google toolbars preinstalled on their PC’s.

Google still has its toolbar mega-deal with Dell computers and Yahoo Search has its toolbars installed on Acer & HP computers.
