Google Docs Mobile Launched

SMS Text

Google has gone live with the full rollout of Google Docs for the Mobile, which offers Writely word processing, spreadsheets and Presently powerpoint style presentations on mobile devices.

The mobile offering is a very minimal version of the information available via Google Docs, yet lets the users access their Google office suite files on the go, while editing does not yet seem to be allowed. Presentations are also limited, as although listed on the main Docs files page, are not available for viewing on the mobile (except for the iPhone).

From Google Help :

At this point, we support both the iPhone and Blackberry mobile devices. Note, however, that presentations are only supported on the iPhone.

Google Docs documents and spreadsheets should also work on phones that offer rich-browser support. While we haven’t tested it across all mobile devices, a good rule of thumb is that the more advanced your phone’s browsing capabilities, the more seamlessly Google Docs will work.

Hah… look where Google reached and Microsoft are Beta testing Viewing Office documents live!

Recall when bill gates compared growth of computer to growth of cars, and how it would be if cars evolve as fast as computer do. Well imagine if the whole world moves as slow as Microsoft online, we would still be doing cash on delivery with Amazon and this blog would be no more than a stupid forum.
