Microsoft has acquired the Seattle based travel search startup Farecast, which has been the recent target of acquisition rumors. The buyout of Farecast was confirmed on the Farecast Blog :

Microsoft was already a Farecast partner, as its Microsoft Travel division had inked a deal with Farecast in July 2007 to power its airfare prediction service. The price for Farecast was between $100 and $115 Million.
