This February saw some unique shifts in the search engine market. Chitika Insights reported that Yahoo saw the largest gain in share across all major search engines. This boost caused Yahoo to pull ahead of Bing, establishing itself as the second largest search engine int he market. If this trend continues to hold, Yahoo will establish itself further as we move into 2012. AOL and Ask.com were also projected to lose share as we move through the year. Finally, excluding unforseen events, Google should remain the largest search engine in the market in 2012.
