White House Stops Using YouTube for Obama Videos

The White House is no longer using YouTube videos to power President Obama’s weekly video address after privacy advocates addressed concern over Youtube videos and Google user data tracking. The Obama White House is now utilizing Akamai to deliver the flash based video address. The White House is however still uploading its videos to their YouTube channel.

The marriage of business and government is a tricky one, and using WhiteHouse.gov as an outlet for the ‘marketing’ Google tools, a massive backer of Obama during the campaign, is questionable – especially since the site is powered by tax payers.
