Google Video Search Now Serving 3rd Party Hosted Videos

Google Video is now indexing videos which are hosted by third party services, other than Google Video and YouTube. MetaCafe is one of the first services which Google Video Search is now serving in its search results.

Although the domain specfic search function does not seem to be working on Google Video, Google Operating System provides an example from a MetaCafe hosted video of a Halle Berry appearance on a British Talk Show.

Halle Berry Breasts on Google Video

In the Google Video results a thumbnail and link point to the MetaCafe site, while Google provides a preview for the videos using the collapsible Google PlusBox.

One interesting twist is that the collapsible previews of the videos seem to be hosted on the Google servers themselves, as the videos are played via the Google Video Player.
