Google Trends Now Updates Daily

September 24th, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | 1 Comment

The Official Google Blog announced today that Google Trends now offers the ability to track different search trends and compare on a daily basis with new daily updates.

Google Trends users can select to view trends for the last 30 days and Google Trends reports on the increases and decreases in search volume for certain keywords for each day in that 30 day field.

For an example, check out the daily results for ‘halloween costumes‘ in September, building up to the October holiday.

Or Yom Kippur:

Or track the interest in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the Iranian President visits the US:

I like Google Trends, but the data just isn’t localized enough.

I’ve looked for local stuff before now and I just get the search volume threshold warning.

That might not be Google’s fault, but it’s something that makes Trends a little less useful for my clients and myself…
