Google Maps Street View Adds Four New Cities

Google Maps has added Street Views of four new cities : San Diego, Los Angeles, Houston and Orlando (thanks Lat Long Blog)

LA, Houston and Orlando Street View pics are provided in lower resolution using the Immersion Media system, however it seems that Google has sent out its Google brigade (in its black vans or the Chevy’s) in the San Diego area to capture higher resolutions.

Its nice to see Google & Immersion targeting a tourist town like Orlando for this project as the city has plenty of attractions and shops, yet can be confusing to navigate at times. Integration into Google Maps for the Orlando area should ideally help local businesses attract more patrons.

  1. They really need to get Boston in there too. Boston’s notorious for being difficult to navigate, especially with all of the one ways and funky routes around town.

This is really cool, though I find myself spending time just clicking around to see what there is to see…
