Lots of news this morning in the online collaboration and online office suite offerings from Google and Yahoo, as the companies announced the aquisition of the Zimbra collaboration server and software company by Yahoo and then subsequently Google launched its Google Presently presentation software which rivals Microsoft PowerPoint.
Now Google has changed the name of its Google Docs & Spreadsheets program to simply Google Docs (although the Google Docs Blog’s URL is still at google-d-s.blogspot.com).
Google’s search engine has yet to index the name change also:

Over the past 12 hours, the office suite software and asp market has transformed dramatically with the ‘completeion’ of a total rival to Microsoft Office in Google Docs, Yahoo’s move into the market (and rumors they may acquire Zoho) along with IBM announcing that their Lotus Symphony office suite will now be free.
