Google AdWords adds Quality Score Keyword Analysis Service

October 23rd, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | No Comments

Google AdWords is working to better communicate their Quality Score with advertisers via a new service which breaks down, in some detail, the Quality Score of keywords used in a Google AdWords campaign and the impact this score will have on the visibility of the advertisement (Inside AdWords blog).

Google will issue recommendations for improving the keywords and ads, opening up the relationship and helping advertisers to score and rank higher.

Google AdWords Quality Score

For example, let’s say a keyword has a poor Quality Score because your landing page doesn’t relate to your keyword. On the Keyword Analysis page, we’ll alert you that your landing page quality is low and provide tips on how to improve it. You’ll also see your Quality Score rating, your minimum bid, and whether your keyword is showing ads.

Kudos for Google and their enhanced transparency around the AdWords product. I wonder how much of an influence the open book over at Yahoo Search Marketing’s Quality Index has on Google opening up their keyword Quality Score?
