This week, Google launched a new application known as “Google Calendar Sync”, which allows you to sync your Google Calendar with Microsoft’s Outlook Calendar. Not only will you be able to view your Outlook Calendar events in Google Calendar, but you can also now view your Google Calendar events in Outlook Calendar. Google and Microsoft play nice for a change!
If you’re already signed up for Google Calendar, you can find a link to the new feature located at the top of your Google Calendar page, or download it directly by clicking this link. To get started, you simply need to download the Google Calendar Sync application, and install it.
Once installed, you’ll be able to set options, such as the sync frequency and the direction of information flow. You can have either a two-way sync whereby the two calendars sync with eachother, or a one-way sync for either Google to sync with Outlook or Outlook to sync with Google.
There’s one important thing to note with this application: it only supports Outlook 2003 and 2007, do if you have an older version you’re out of luck.
