As a web developer and a blogger, I’m always looking for new and different ways to promote my web sites and blogs. I can’t say that I’ve ever had a generous budget, so I’ve had to be creative in how I get the word out about these sites.
Sometimes this task is as easy and cheap as creating a link on a social networking profile, but sometimes publicizing can be as complicated and expensive as a transit ad. However much time and money you have to work on your publicizing, you’ll find something you can do on my list of 101 Ways to Publicize Your Web Site:
- AdWords
- Air fresheners
- Antenna balls
- Article author biographies

Wow! If you can’t use lots of these ideas - you just aren’t trying. Makes you wonder how many more you could think of yourself. Awesome list…

@Ivaan … these take your URL from your site and into the offline world.
As an example, distributing free air fresheners can land your URL under the rear view mirror of a car. When do people use their mobile Internet? When they’re driving and sitting in traffic of course :)
It’s like having a link front of someone’s eyes 2 hours a day. A link that smells good :)

Nice tips Sarah, but what do you mean by air fresheners and antenna balls??!!

FYI, the blinklist link goes to Attensa and BlogCarnival is not functioning. I stopped after that. Lots of good ideas though.

@Ivaan, @Chris, Just like you can put your logo on just about anything, you can also put your logo on just about anything. Look at websites like Branders.com for examples!

Ha ha! I love this list! I had to share it on Facebook because, while this list is 100% serious, there are several fun ways of marketing that made me giggle. A nice breath of fresh air!

This wont work for most people with A.O.R especially the ones with some college education, Thats when ego’s really keeps some people stuck.
But for the social experts this one has brought me close to $300,000 in free add on business, over 11 years.
Car bumper sticker!
