Search Engine Strategies Chicago 2006

December 1st, 2006 by Loren Baker, Editor | 2 Comments

On Sunday I’ll be flying into Chicago to attend next week’s Search Engine Strategies Chicago 2006. While not one of the larger SES shows, especially compared to the SES San Jose and SES New York conferences, Search Engine Strategies is sure to be one of the more cozy get togethers (especially with the blizzard currently going on in Chicago).

Jason Calacanis, formerly of AOL, will be taking part in the keynote conversation and Danny Sullivan (now of Search Engine Land) will be, as always, hosting the event.

The overview of sessions is available on the Search Engine Strategies site and since Search Engine Journal will be ‘covering’ the event, we’re lining up interviews with different presenters and attendees right now.

If you would like to have a sit down with me to discuss your search engine, search marketing agency, local search business or anything else in general, please feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll be contacting you via email.

Oh yes, SES parties. SEMPO is hosting a couple of get togethers but the only major party I know of is being held by the Yahoo Publisher Network; here’s the info:

Time: 7pm-10pm

What: “What’s New at Yahoo!” Holiday Celebration

Why: To thank all of our customers and industry friends for their support this year and celebrate Yahoo!’s new advertising platform, recent research insights, social search and multimedia initiatives

Who: Open to all SES attendees, but please note you must bring your badge to get in

Location: The Enclave at 213 West Institute (Transportation will be available from the Hilton Chicago, cocktails/light appetizers will be served, and we’ll have a live band)

More event info is being talked about at the Search Engine Watch forums.

Loren - hopefully Chicago will be clear by the time we all fly in on Sunday!

In any case, I just wanted to let all your readers know, while yes, SES Chicago is traditionally smaller than San Jose or NYC - this year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest Chicago event ever!

I’d also be glad to talk with you next week regarding some of the changes happing at SEW.
