Whenever an employee write a blog post, make sure you promoting their self brand by adding their bio picture, links to their bio page and social media profiles. If you read a number of industry blogs, you will probably start to notice certain people that you really like to follow. If an employee writes a post, make sure they are following up with anyone who responds with a comment. It is important for the person who wrote the post to respond.   1. Great article. This hit home for me because we are working on the same strategy in my office. It's hard to get everyone to focus on the same goals and keep everyone motivated. Hopefully these tools can make everyone's life easier.

    1. Agreed, that is by far the biggest challenge. Not everyone wants to participate, however finding ways to motivate them (incentives – time off, money) can do the trick. Ideally hiring employees who have the same values and passion for social media.

  2. The last company I worked with I devised a contest of tweet referrals. I sent out a weekly email with who was tweeting and listed out how many referrals they brought the company for the week. Then called out the winner (of course). When we got a conversion from the tweets then I awarded them with a gift card.

  3. Yeah I do think it is a great idea. To have personal accounts for employees would be so much more efficiant. Unless your a company that is strictly for social media there is probably one lone person typing away platform to platform making sure they take care of the companies clients… oop… 5:00 didn't have time to do any updates or tweets for our company… maybe tomorrow :p

  4. This is indeed something I have been looking at for a while now. A lot of SEO and social media seems to be about artifically increasing the supposed social media presence of a company. It makes a whole lot of sense to leverage existing employees/fans.
