Yahoo Toolbar Adds del.icio.us Tool
In what can be seen as a big step in the evolution of bookmarks & tagging beyond the tech crowd and into the living rooms of mainstream America (hence, Social Media), Yahoo has announced that they have added some new tools to the Yahoo Toolbar including a del.icio.us button.
From the Yahoo Search Blog:
Speaking of changes, you must have heard about del.icio.us by now! People use del.icio.us to save and share web favorites. We’ve just created a del.icio.us button for our US users.
You add it to your IE or Firefox toolbar to get easy access to your del.icio.us account from anywhere on the web. If you already have toolbar installed, you can add it with a click, otherwise, find it on the Add/Edit Buttons page in the “Personal Tools” section.
This announcement leads me to question which bookmarking, tagging and social search umbrella Yahoo will put its mass tagging efforts under - del.icio.us or Yahoo MyWeb?
Ideally they would keep del.icio.us alive to appease its grassroots following, but with the mass marketing and future of MyWeb - is there room for both of them in this town?

Loren,
Did you try the tabs feature yourself ?
The IE tabs introduced by Windows Live Toolbar are disappointing. Are Yahoo tabs any better ?
