Will You Use the Google URL Shortener Goo.gl?

Yesterday Google announced the launch of its new URL shortening service which will be used in conjunction with the Google Toolbar and the Feedburner RSS service, where it is currently being tested. Google is planning to make it available as a stand-alone product once they’ve proven it to be useful and if well received. The widespread launch of Goo.gl could instantly position Google as the front runner in URL shorteners especially if they come out with a TweetDeck style Chrome extension or an east tweet device for their Google Toolbar.

SEJ is currently holding a poll to gauge user interest in Goo.gl. Will You Use the Google URL Shortener Goo.gl?

No I want use it. I’m tired of Google this, Google that, Google here, Google there…

cannot use it like a regular link shortener for now. but using it through feedburner. i would love to have it as an independent service. tr.im is too unreliable. bit.ly has become too LONG (for Short URLs). currently using cli.gs.

i doubt google would make it an independent service. though it might be used through some API by existing third party tools (like ChromeMUSE).

Since it requires the Google toolbar to be installed, it’s less flexible than other shorteners.

This was one of my predictions last year for 2009! – Maybe… It depends on if I want to pass some link love or not.

  5. Andreas says:

I wont use it. Google has enough on me as it is.

  6. IMGuru says:

I will use it only if it releases the extension for Chrome ..

  7. CAP Digisoft says:

i will only use if there is any kind of link juice or a good kind of back link being given to my website. Otherwise it sucks…

  8. Google needs to stick with search…. they should stop attempting to be everything to everyone….
