Over the weekend I noticed more and more Google search results with little blue links between the page descriptions and the target URL in Google search (which Barry dubbed One Line Sitelinks).
The little blue Google links point directly to internal pages on the sites which show relevant results to the search queries and remind me of the Yahoo extra links which are shown for Yahoo feed advertisers. If you look at the examples below you’ll see that some sites have better links than others.
My first guess is that this is part of the Google Sitelinks program, and we could see a transition from the bulky Sitelinks results to these links which are more streamlined and pleasing to the end user.
Surely these links also attract user interest in the Google results and sites which do have these internal Google links may have a competitive advantage over other sites listed in Google search, whether or not they are ranked above or below one another.
Are you seeing these little Google Blue Sitelinks for your sites in Google and if so, are you noticing a jump in organic search traffic?

I think this is great because there is less real estate being taken. I wish Google would change the default to 20 links on the first page. I know I can change my personal settings, but people don’t do that. And now the first page is full of YouTube videos and Wiki pedia. there is only 2 real informational items on the first page now..
Google and other search engines put a lot of importance on online media reports. If a website was featured in CNN.com, WSJ.com or other major online publications, it will rank much higher than the sites which have hundreds of link-farm-generated links. Does anybody know of a good list of PR firms specializing in online publicity? Publicity Guaranteed (PublicityGuaranteed.com) looks like an attractive option, as they only charge for the results, without any retainers or hourly rates; however they don’t do online-only publicity. AllPublicits.com seems to be the most comprehensive database of publicists and I posted there my RFP for publicists to bid on, but all resulting bids included traditional media. If I had a larger budget, I wouldn’t mind good coverage in traditional media, but I only seek publicity for my SEO campaign, so I need online publicity only
Max,
I am not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but, I do have a client: http://www.pressreleasesolutions.com that offers traditional and online PR services. I also know that he has years of traditional media experience and he may be able to at least guide you in the right direction. I hope this helps.
I like the feature gives more info to the searcher which is only good.
This is an excellent feature in reducing the real estate for any given entry. I can’t wait until it becomes universal.
What I don’t like about site links is when someone gets them unfairly for a generic term that happens to be close to their URL. For example, why does Gamespot get a site link for “video games”?
thankks you
