Experian Hitwise just released its May 2010 Search Market Share report. And nothing much is new from the report. Google still leads the major search engine and is even the only one which gained market share in May 2010.
According to the report, Google’s search market share in May 2010 was $72.12 of all U.S. searches. This is a 1% increase from the previous month’s tally.
Yahoo and Bing on the other managed to grab 14.43% and 9.23% of all searches in the U.S. respectively. Both Yahoo and Bing lose from their previous months achievement by -3% and -2% respectively.
Another interesting point raised by the Hitwise report is that Google has been delivering the most visits to the various search categories – Automotive, Shopping and Travel. Yahoo gains upstream traffic to Automotive and Shopping while Bing gains triple-digit increase in Health and Shopping search verticals.
