There’s one really cool FireFox addon I discovered a couple of weeks ago and it proved really useful: Site Information Plugin.
It adds one more really cool option to your FireFox right-click context menu called "Site Information" which works the following way:
- Right-click on any link on the page;
- Choose "Site Information"
After that you should be taken to quite exhaustive stats page containing lots of information not only about the linked site but actually about the linked page (generated by this handy online Site Information tool):
- Google PR of the linked page;
- Alexa Rank of the linked domain;
- Compete.com rank;
- Quancast rank;
- Netcraft rank;
- Technorati rank;
- On-page link count (as well as Nofollow ink count);
- PR/links ratio (Pagerank divided by the links count (excluding nofollow links);
- Yahoo inbound links;
- Sites linking in (Alexa);
- Page Delicious bookmark count;
- Page Delicious top tags;
- Diggs of the page;
- Digg submissions of the domain;
- Domain IP address and registry information;
- Response code;
- Header information;
- Page file size;
- Domain registration data.
Now, let me share a quick example on when this tool can be used. I like the ability to open the stats page right from (Google) SERPs (for this you will need to have one of these Greasemonkey scripts to remove redirects from Google search results page). So when researching competitors, just right-click on any of the links and you get access the page info:
