September 24th, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | 2 Comments

Yahoo Search has expanded its running of limited live tests of its new Yahoo Search Assist driven search result pages which sport a new layout and drop down menu for refining search queries to best match user intent.

The new Yahoo UI places the search box on the top left hand side of the screen, with the Yahoo logo to the far right.

An optional Yahoo Search Assist dropdown menu is served where users can better refine their search queries from one or two word searches into the types of queries which wil serve the results users are looking for.

I love the more refined suggestions they offer. Exactly like Ask does it.

I always use this feature when coming up with related keywords and lists.

after playing with it a bit, it appears like the expanding the search with additional keywords is clashing with the changing the primary keyword itself. still needs vis-de tweaking.
