Google Warns Phishers and Malwares, Releases Safe Browsing API

Google heightens its drive towards a safer internet browsing experience with the release of its Safe Browsing API. The experimental API lets client applications check URLs of suspected phisers and malwares via Google’s frequently updated list of phishers and malwares authoring sites.

Some of the useful things that you can do with the Safe Browsing API includes:

  • Warn users of links that appear on sites which will lead to malware-infested pages.
  • Prevent users from posting links to phishing pages from your site.
  • Check a list of pages against Google’s suspected phishing and malware lists.

The Safe Browsing API is still in experimental stage, to help Google fight these annoying phisers and malwares and if you have a crack for testing Google codes and APIs, sign up for a Safe Browsing API. Together, let us all make the internet a safer place for all of us.
