About.com Adopts Blog Technology for all 450 Guide Sites

We talked to About.com’s Director of Search, Marshall D. Simmons yesterday and here’s what we have to say about this breaking news.

About.com has announced that they have changed their entire site of guide driven informational sites into, well, the world’s largest BLOG! About.com is now using blog technology to keep their information updated and fresh. They have moved all 450 home pages to a blog format.

What does this mean? Well, About.com, the original information site on any subject has just become more user and “mining guide” friendly.

Since blogs are becoming such a popular craze on the web, this only goes to show that blogging has gone far beyond the tech culture and is becoming an accepted form of web site management.
