Great article. Taking all into account it really depends on the impact for the end user. The person viewing your page.

@Ann ~ Nice Post ...

Another great way to check on page size and load optimization is the firebug plug-in YSlow from Yahoo! ...

Good article. I whole-heartedly agree that it is imperative to optimise page sizes & load times, as it is one of the many other factors that the SEs look at.

I think it is also worth mentioning that it is quite important to compare your site and that of the competition.

Note that I said competition and not just some random website. Reason for this being that some industries/markets will be, by default, larger, or smaller in page size.

Besides 'identifing the size of each page and image throughout the site' XENU also helps in locating dead links on one's site.

Michael, I am a bit confused. That's what I actually meant to say: "It is a myth that Google can handle NO more than 100 links per page". Isn't it the same as what you are saying?

Google CAN handle more than 100 links per page and has been able to do so for years. I don't think you should call that a myth.

Thanks for reminding again.

Even though I try to keep it my mind, but often demanding customers want more and more content ... video, images etc.
