Google will now be serving AdWords and AdSense advertising on over 400 web sites owned by China Telecom Corp.
China Telecom is China’s largest provider of telephone and Internet services. China Telecom aims to boost its online advertising business and provide higher value-added services through the tie-up with Google.
Although Google is having problems breaking into the Chinese search market against rival Baidu.com which claims a 58% share, the Google AdWords partnership with China Telecom is no surprise.
Comparatively in Japan, Google is not used for search by many Japanese, however, Google AdWords is a major search monetization player with several strong partners. Goes to show the power of successfully monetized search.
