Google AdSense Coming to Facebook Apps?

Would you like to see Google AdSense in Facebook Apps? Google has recently loosened its AdSense Terms of Service so publishers can run other contextual targeted ads along with Google AdSense, but the change may be because Google wants to run their ads in publishing vehicles alongside other advertisements (like the ads running within Facebook).

Steve Rubel thinks that Google AdSense ads will soon be coming to the Facebook applications Google has been slowly rolling out, especially after the quote from Eric Schmidt in AdAge :

“How will those developers get paid for those services? We would like to have our ads in those applications.”

Not a huge step in the logical direction for Google AdSense and I see this coming to more application opportunities as different services open up to developers, like current Google partner MySpace.

AdSense has been on Facebook for a while.

I personally am testing it out on some ads.

So yes, AdSense has come to Facebook.

But are these Google Facebook Apps or normal AdSense ads within Facebook?

Yes it is possible to include google adsense ads to any facebook application but only using the limited “IFRAME” approach which makes the relevance of those ad very low. Other ad platforms like cubics for example have access to user demographics and other contextual information which makes the ads a lot more relevant and therefore increases the chances of users clicking on those ads.

I would like to see Google Adsense ads that are tailored for Facebook user base. This would only be possible if Google had some type of affiliate program with Facebook, where they would get access to say non identifiable user data.

As others have said, Google Ads has been on Facebook a while, but not enough has been done to show how it’s done.
