WordPress Version 4.2 Now Live, Here’s What’s New

Version 4.2 of WordPress is now available to download. The update has been labeled Powell in honor of jazz pianist Bud Powell, and comes with several useful new features.

Easier Sharing via ‘Press This’
Improvements to the Press This browser bookmarklet are said to make it easier and faster for you to share content to WordPress from other sources.

Additional Language Support
WordPress 4.2 has support for new characters, including native Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters, musical and mathematical symbols, and hieroglyphs.

All your favorite emoji are now available to use on WordPress by going to Edit > Special Characters, or just by using them on your keyboard if you’re writing a post on a mobile device.

Preview New Themes
Finally, a feature that has been long overdue. Want to preview a new theme before it goes live for the whole world to see? Now you can. See how it looks with your content and find out what changes need to be made before unveiling the finished product.

More Embeds
WordPress has stepped up its support for embeds with with ability to embed content from and Kickstarter just by pasting the link into the content editor.
