Vote for the 2006 Search Blogs Awards!

SMS Text

Voting for the Search Engine Journal’s 2006 Search Blogs Awards are now open.

Please take the time to rank and vote for your favorite search engine blogs and bloggers!

Vote Now!

In most of the categories, we ask voters to rank the Search Blogs which you read from 1-5, 5 being the best. One other category is voting for one entry. One is a write in.

Voting will be open until December 24th. On Christmas Eve we will close the voting and announce the winners after the holiday season is over.

We will also be issuing some Search Blog Achievement Awards to blogs and bloggers who we feel are special and do not fit in one certain category.

Here is a list for the nominated blogs in each category. Blogs were nominated over the past week by Search Engine Journal readers ((I’ll be adding in the links to these blogs over the next few hours).

I vote for Search Engine Watch

  • https://www.searchenginejournal.com Loren Baker, Editor

Thanks Claudia, did you vote for SEW on the voting form/survey?

  • https://www.searchenginejournal.com Loren Baker, Editor

BTW, I spelled Rebecca’s and Todd’s last names incorrectly on SurveyMonkey. My apologies and I’ll try to fix this late in the evening.

    Loren,

Thanks for including TLB on the list. I wish we had the time and resources to be half the blog that some of the others, on the list, are.

  • http://www.DrinkBait.com/ Chris Hooley

Awe man! When this contest started, there was a “Best LinkBait” category. I had a shot at making a little buzz there, that was my one and only time to shine!

    Bummer :-(

Voted anyways. Even though I also wasn’t included in the exhaustive list of search engine bloggers. :-(

  • https://www.searchenginejournal.com Loren Baker, Editor

Chris, you’re time is gonna come, don’t worry.

There were just soooo many choices for categories and Best Linkbait should be a whole other award in itself :)

Best Linkbait of 2006 Nominations Now Open!

  • Kim Krause Berg

Hey Loren, the how to vote instructions sorta disappear as you get near the end. Like for the forums, do you rate 5 of them or pick 1? A bunch of others are missing how you want the votes done…pick one, rate 1-5, etc.

It “took” whatever I did, but I kept thinking it would throw an error if I guessed wrongly on what to do :)

  • https://www.searchenginejournal.com Loren Baker, Editor

Good point Kim, I’ll see what can be done to add the extra directions.

  • http://www.unofficialseoblog.com/ Navneet Kaushal

    Hey Loren,

Thanks for nominating us. It’s an honor to be listed along with the world’s finest SEO blogs.

  • Kim Krause Berg

Loren, it would be helpful, for sure, but I wanted to add that part of my problem was that I followed a link directly to the voting page, rather than having arrived to this post first, that has more instructions. So it was user experience thing…I was the pain in the neck user. heh :)

  • Loren

Wow, who’d a thunk the master of usability is a pain in the neck user?

    Thanks Kim, Loren

  • http://www.ranksmart.com Ben Pfeiffer

Hey Loren, Thanks for including me and Seroundtable in the nominations. I think you have my last name misspelled. Its “Pfeiffer” with two ‘f”s.
    :-)

  • http://www.searchenginegaze.com Sander

    Hi Loren,

One thing in the survey is that you cannot undo a click, anyway filled in everything:), good luck in 2007.

Too bad we didn’t see Danny’s Search Engine Land nominated for any categories. I can understand because it’s very new, but he’s been rockin’ it since day 1. I’ll vote for it next year.

This year, there are some tough decisions. Most of these are nothing short of fantastic reads! Kudos to ALL the nominees!

  • https://www.searchenginejournal.com Loren Baker, Editor

Too bad we didn’t see Danny’s Search Engine Land nominated

Yep, Search Engine Land was out for about 4 days before nominations began and when voting for 2006 awards keep in mind, Danny & Barry were at the helm of the Search Engine Watch Blog for 99% of the year (since the last awards).

Of course, the issue there is, who is the best search blogger of 2006? :)

  • http://blog.merjis.com/ Jeremy Chatfield

I’m disappointed – we were nominated by Rich Ball in the original list, but we’ve been dropped from these lists. Was there a requirement that we missed? :(

  • http://work-at-homes.blogspot.com Work At Homes

I vote for SEOMoz and Matt Cutzz. The know thee rest I haven’t read their site but its a great list for me to go through to gain more knowledge. Thanks.

  • Chris

    Hi Loren,

This is a wonderful job. This is a neat compilation of the best SEO blogs on the web. However, I am still waiting for you to add the links to these blogs as you promised. About many of the blogs I have not heard before and would love to have a look. Anyways thanks for the great job.
