Oodle Adds Local Classifieds Search in 23 New Markets

Oodle Adds Local Classifieds Search in 23 New Markets

Just as the local classified search market begins to heat up, Oodle has expanded into 23 new markets. With this expansion, Oodle (a local classifieds search engine) now provides service to 49 metro areas, which Oodle says supports more than 50 percent of the US population.

The new areas served include Austin, Baltimore, Charlotte, Columbia, El Paso, Fort Meyers, Greensboro, Hartford, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Memphis, Nashville, Norfolk, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Providence, Raleigh, Rochester, Salt Lake City, Tucson, Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm Beach.

Oodle’s search index has over 4.5 million listings from numerous classified sources. Oodle also offers an Oodle Alerts feature which tells users the minute the item they’re looking for is available.

Oodle recently was in the news after Craigslist, the mega online classfieds site, blocked listing aggregation to the Oodle search engine. Losing a source of classifieds information has not stopped Oodle’s mission of building its index. Oodle says that it is “rapidly adding sources to its index, ranging from big sites to smaller community sources like local newspapers and specialized national sites such as MyKidsCloset and TruckerToTrucker.com.”
