MSN Search Down For 4 Hours Today
There are numerous accounts coming in from around the web that MSN Search was down for about 3 to 4 hours today. MSN Search has still not announced why their search engine was not working, but have fixed the problem and searches can now be performed.
According to Barry Schwartz at Search Engine Roundtable the MSN Search service went offline around 11:35 am EST, and then the service reappeared at 3 pm.
When attempting to perform a search via MSN, the following message was served:
This service is currently unavailable
Our team is working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Please try your request again later.
An MSN spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal :
“The outage began at about 8 a.m. Pacific time. At noon, the service was still down, but shortly afterward began working again.
Company technicians have been working on the problem, but have not yet concluded what caused the shutdown in the first place.”
